Welcome to Homeschool Middle School French: Level A! This beginner-friendly course introduces students to the foundations of French, including greetings, personal information, daily routines, and basic conversation skills — all while exploring French and Francophone culture. 🌟 Course Highlights • Interactive learning through activities, projects, and cultural exploration • Practical communication: introduce yourself, ask/answer questions, share favorites • Cultural insights: traditions and celebrations from French-speaking countries 🎯 Learning Outcomes Students will be able to: • Greet and introduce themselves in French • Ask/answer questions about age, address, phone number • Describe routines, weather, and clothing • Express likes, dislikes, and hobbies • Appreciate cultural practices and celebrations ⏳ Carnegie Unit Equivalency This course runs 30 weeks at ~2 hours per week = 60 hours (½ Carnegie Unit). Completing Level A + Level B equals 1 full Carnegie Unit, the equivalent of one year of high school French credit. Note: I do not award official credit. Parents may use the course documentation and Carnegie calculation to present to schools. 📘 ACTFL Alignment Aligned with ACTFL standards: • Communication → Interpersonal, interpretive, presentational • Cultures → Insights into French-speaking communities • Connections & Comparisons → Link French to other subjects and reflect on differences with English • Communities → Use French beyond the classroom
